Man sentenced for stabbing elderly woman to death SAN DIEGO -- In a downtown San Diego courtroom Monday, a judge sentenced Anthony Dwayne Siddle to 36 years to life for stabbing to death 87-year-old Peggy Brandenburgh, and stabbing her daughter, Patricia Labarge.Through tears, many family members and friends shared emotional victim impact statements to remember and honor the life of Brandenburgh, but also to convince the judge to give Siddle the maximum sentence possible for the crimes.During the victim impact statements, FOX 5 learned Brandenburgh was a mother of seven, a Navy wife and a loving grandmother who spent her time volunteering. The tool was also referred to as "el brazo del diablo," or "the devil's arm." The tool forced fieldworkers to stoop over for hours at a time and was the cause of debilitating back and spinal deformities for generations of laborers, according to the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center.The Chicano Park Steering Committee revealed the new artwork Sunday in Barrio Logan.

APD: 17 year old, 3 juveniles arrested in connection with southeast Austin shooting death AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Ervin Coronado-Palacio, 17, faces a capital murder charge in the death of Brian Serrano, 19, according to an affidavit for the suspect. The Austin Police Department said three juveniles have also been arrested in relation to the case. PREVIOUS: APD searching for suspects in deadly southeast Austin robbery On May 15, APD received a 911 call about the shooting and found Serrano dead inside his car on Springfield Drive in southeast Austin. APD said a group of people - whom Serrano did not know - attempted to rob him and another woman. According to the affidavit, Coronado-Palacio's prints were found in a stolen vehicle left on the scene.
